Pré-Convenção Rotaract em Nova Orleans USA

 
Do you want to strengthen your Rotaract club, learn more about excellent Rotaract service projects being carried out right now, and build lasting friendships with hundreds of Rotaractors from around the world? If so,
you will definitely want to attend the Rotaract Preconvention Meeting at the 2011 Rotary International Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA and revel in what Rotary does best: Building Communities – Bridging Con...tinents!

At this meeting, participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas on a wide range of Rotaract topics in interactive workshops and listen to interesting and informative speakers, all designed to support and enhance
the current Rotaract activities underway your community. Keynote speakers will include the leaders of Rotary International.

LOCATION AND DATES
Preconvention meeting sessions will be held at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA from 20-21 May 2011. Rotaractors are also encouraged to participate in the RI Convention, 21-25 May, directly following the last day of the preconvention meeting. LENGTH
This year's preconvention meeting will be held over 1 ½ days, from 09:00 to 18:00 hours on Friday, 20 May and 09:00 to 12:00 hours on Saturday, 21 May.

COST
New for 2011, Rotaractors can register for the Rotaract Preconvention Meeting as a stand-alone meeting for US$50! Rotaractors who also want to attend the RI Convention and register prior to 15 December 2010 will pay US$50; those who register prior to 31 March 2011 will pay US$75; and those who register on-site will pay US$100. Be sure to take advantage of the early registration discount and register for both events!

REGISTRATION
Registration for the preconvention meeting will be accepted via post or fax only (online registration is not available for Rotaractors). Download the RI Convention Registration and Ticket Form from www.rotary.org/convention and submit the completed form to your nearest RI international office along with the registration fee.

VISAS
Please note that registrants who are citizens of countries requiring a visa to visit the United States will automatically receive a “letter of invitation” from RI in PDF format along with their e-mailed registration confirmation. If you have any questions about how to apply for a visitor’s visa, please visit the U.S. Department of State's website at http://travel.state.gov/.

HOUSING INFORMATION

SOCIAL EVENTS

HOW CAN YOU BE INVOLVED?
Volunteer as a Preconvention workshop facilitator. To do this, you should be a reasonably experienced Rotaractor and be willing to help facilitate a discussion on a particular topic. To see examples of workshop topics from 2010, visit http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=423645992144.

Volunteer for the Findings Committee- these individuals take notes during the workshops and sessions so that a complete Preconvention findings report can be compiled.

Volunteer to be a Sergeant-at-Arms- These volunteers help direct attendees, assist in special tasks, help keep order, and more.
